Just out of curiosity, is it colored pencil, watercolor, or another form of media?
*obviously* But me, being so sloppy, needed to use a brush the size of a Warhammer figure brush... *_* It took a long time...
Also, use as much water as you want to blend, but have plenty of tissues. I usually saturate the piece, then mop it up. I don't know what else to say, except in watercolors, a steady hand will get you far, and as my art teacher used to "sing:" No, no, no! No paint near wet areas!"
*this calls for a favorite.
